Our farm is located in Leelanau County, Michigan and covers 184 acres. We raise 12 acres of strawberries, and 20 acres of tart cherries and have been in business since 1974. Bardenhagen BerriesWe hire about 50 workers during the harvest season, which is usually June 15th through August 7th.

Most of our strawberries are picked for fresh market. We also pick most of our sweet cherries for fresh market, using ladders, which is required for cherry harvest. Our workers also do some weeding in the strawberry fields.

We have 13 approved housing units with no charge for housing or utilities but we expect the apartments to be thoroughly cleaned after their use. We have telephones, mail, and laundry facilities that are provided in our camp. Migrant day care and health services are available in our county.

Our workers generally work about 50 hours a week and are paid every week. We are covered by the FLSA and we guarantee minimum wage.
