The Urka family have been operating a family farm for the past fifty years. We raise strawberries and pickles and employ approximately 25 workers during the season. We harvest strawberries from early June to early July. We do have some general labor work available in July. We start our pickle harvest usually in the last week of July and runs till near Labor Day.

Our minimum starting wage for general labor is $7.40 per hour, with our strawberry harvest being paid on a piece rate, which results in higher wage. Our pickle harvest wages are based on a 50/50 bases.

Urka Farms have five licensed units available for families, with one family per unit. We provide laundry facilities on the farm. There is no charge for housing while our workers are working our crops. A migrant school program is also available during the summer season.
