4856 S. First St. New Era, MI. 49446 Oceana County New Era Canning Company is a food processor in Oceana County, located in western Michigan. From May 1st to November 30th. New Era Canning provides approximately ninety positions. These employees assist with the processing of over forty million pounds of produce. Some of the products that are canned in this facility include; green and wax beans, asparagus, dry beans, applesauce and sliced apples.

combination of asparagus and green beans are processed between May 1st
and June 15th. Green and wax beans are primarily processed between June15th
until October 15th or later. Apples, dry beans and squash are processed
between November and April. Positions that will need to be filled include;
inspection, sanitation, warehouse operations, forklift drivers, machine
operators and general positions. Our starting rate of pay varies with
the type of skill level required to perform the job task. In addition
to the base wage an attendance bonus can be earned. An extra $.40 cents
per hour is paid (for perfect attendance) an extra $.25 cents per hour
(for one day absent) and an extra $.10 cents per hour (for two days
absent). This bonus is paid on a monthly basis. In addition, a monthly
safety bonus of $.15 cents per hour is paid based on meeting the requirements.
Employer pays into the unemployment benefits fund and we are covered
by workers compensation.
